How to Get a Police Uniform in GTA San Andreas

A step-by-step guide to unlocking the police outfit

The police suit is one of the many special outfits available in GTA: San Andreas that cannot be purchased from any merchandise or clothing store inside the game. Instead, you have to work your way to get it. The cop uniform consists of a white undershirt, black T-shirt, pants, and shoes, and it does not give your main character special invulnerability from getting a wanted level like in previous versions of the game.

How to Get a Police Suit in GTA San Andreas: Quick Steps

Go to Tierra Robada to the El Quebrados sheriff’s station. Talk to Barbara Schternvart and ask her out on a date. If you continue to date her, she’ll give you the cop uniform.

Tierra Robada is located in the northwest corner of the map, just on top of San Fierro. It’s a dry desert place that connects San Fierro and Bone County. You can take the west service road from Bone County to easily get to Tierra Robada.
As soon as you get to Tierra Robada (assuming you took the road from Bone County), you’ll immediately see its first town, is El Quebrados. On the right side (if you’re entering the area from Bone County), the first thing you’ll see is the El Quebrados sheriff’s station.

Talk to Barbara Schternvart. Park your car outside the sheriff’s station. Here you should see a female non-playable character standing out in the parking lot. This is Barbara Schternvart. Approach her and your main character will ask her out on a date.
- You have a better chance of seeing Barbara outside the Sheriff’s office anytime between 12 midnight and 6 o’clock in the morning, or between 2 o’clock in the afternoon and 10 o’clock late in the evening.

Date Barbara. After talking to Barbara and asking her out on a date, take Barbara out for a ride or to Jay’s Diner—the nearest diner in the area, southwest of Tierra Robada.
- Barbara likes driving at regular traffic speed and eating out at diners.
Repeat these dates a couple of times until your Relationship Progress Bar (appears after every date) with her reaches 100%. Once your Relationship Progress Bar with Barbara reaches 100%, she will give you a Cop Uniform, which can be accessed from the wardrobe of your safe house.

Get into a police vehicle and escape the police if they see you. Then click on "VIGILANTE." Now you have to eliminate the criminals. Be aware, once you eliminate the criminals, the police will be after you again.

To wear the uniform, enter the wardrobe (or closet) in your safe house, select “Special” from the menu, and pick “Police Uniform.” Choose “Try on” to check out how it looks on your character, and then “Wear” if you want your character to change its attire to the cop uniform.

Make sure that your character is fat in appearance before asking Barbara out on a date. Otherwise, she will just decline your invitation. Eat out a lot at fast foods to buff up your character before heading out to El Quebrados.
