You might have seen videos of people spinning their Labubu’s head completely around and wondered—are real Labubus supposed to do that? The answer actually depends on which Labubu series you have. To help you determine if your Labubu is real (or if it’s a fake Lafufu), we’re explaining which Labubu heads rotate, what it means if yours doesn’t, and whether the hands and feet should spin, too. Let’s get started!

Do real Labubu heads turn?

The heads usually spin on genuine Labubu keychain plushes, including figures from the Exciting Macaron, Big Into Energy, and Have a Seat series—although some figures’ heads may not rotate due to manufacturing differences. Non-plush figures, like the ones in the Lazy Yoga series, usually have fixed heads that don’t spin.

Most Labubu keychain plushes have 360° spinning heads. The most popular version of Labubu is the keychain plush, and most of these have rotatable heads. However, there should be some resistance when you try to turn the head. If the head spins freely, it could be a sign of a fake Labubu, or it could mean that the head joint has become damaged (which can happen over time). Labubus with spinning heads include:

Some Labubu figures are made with non-rotating heads. Non-plush Labubus and other specialty figures may have fixed heads that don’t spin at all. Unfortunately, the product listings don’t specify whether a figure’s head turns, but the heads of molded figures likely do not rotate. These Labubus include:

What does it mean if my Labubu’s head doesn’t spin?

Authentic Labubus may not spin due to manufacturing issues. Just because the head on your Labubu doesn’t spin, it doesn’t automatically mean it’s a counterfeit. Labubus do sometimes have slight variations in coloring or construction, so you could just have a figure with a slight imperfection that prevents the head from turning.^{[3]

- Be very careful when turning your Labubu’s head. If it doesn’t turn with slight resistance, don’t try to force it—you could damage the joint, causing your Labubu’s head to sag or even fall off.

Fake Labubus could have a non-rotating or freely spinning head. If you have a keychain plush and the head doesn’t spin at all—or if it spins easily, with little to no resistance—it could be a sign you’ve accidentally purchased a fake Labubu (called a Lafufu). But it’s not a definite sign on its own, so check for other signs that your Labubu is genuine, like:
- 9 pointed teeth
- Consistent, even paint on the face
- High-quality stitching
- Pop Mart logo on the left foot
- High-quality printing on the packaging
- Working QR code on the box

The keychain plush Labubus (including Exciting Macaron and Big Into Energy) often have slightly posable arms, allowing you to fold them in or out. However, the hands don’t usually spin at the ends of the arms.^{[4]

Some Labubus have feet that can spin 360°. The keychain plushes usually do not have posable legs, but you may be able to rotate the feet all the way around in a circle. There should be some resistance, though—they shouldn’t spin easily.^{[5]
